World Series Recap: Come To Play
Kansas City hosted an amazing Gay Softball World Series a bit ago so we've compiled thoughts from players who were there. From loving the game to enjoying all of the available BBQ for every single meal, here is what people said about this year's Gay Softball World Series:
“What an amazing experience. My team won our divison. This was just one highlight of the week. KC put on an ever like none other in Gay Softball herstory. Super organized, great events throughout the week, so much to do and see around the city, food in abundance, the opening and closing ceremonies on fire, and all the high rise buildings being lit up in pride colors brought an emotional quality like none other. 5 stars. It helped that the weather was somewhat favorable. No rain. KC would do well to host again.”
Rolando (Georgia)
“The 2019 GSWS was my first WS and it’s an event I’ll never forget. I was honored to carry the flag representing the city of Seattle at the opening ceremonies. I met some amazing people and created friendships that will last a lifetime. I was able to explore a wonderful city and play softball with an amazing group of humans. I can’t wait to see what Columbus, Ohio does next year. #MuffinTops”
Ramone (Seattle)
“My experience is best described as surprising. I didn’t expect to even qualify for the World Series in my first year playing softball. I didn’t expect us to make it nearly as far as we did, let alone take home a championship. And I didn’t expect to meet so many friendly, funny, and fantastic people that were there in Kansas City week. I can’t wait to go back.”
Luke (Dallas)
“GSWS in KC was amazing. To say it was an awesome experience is an understatement. The people you meet and the community you play for is spontaneous and fun! I will always continue to have a heart for the GSWS.”
