Swifties take the field: Inside the Saints' Taylor Swift theme night

The Minnesota St. Paul Saints are a minor league baseball team who have been entertaining baseball fans since 1993. Saints games are the perfect summertime activity for baseball fans of all ages. They are family-friendly, and they don’t break the bank. Throughout the game there is on-field entertainment where the crowd can play in games and competitions. They also have “Ushertainers” who walk around the stadium and entertain the crowd. These added elements make attending a Saints game more than just baseball. The ambiance is filled with energy and makes for a fun-filled event every time.

The stadium is located in Saint Paul’s Lowertown Arts District. The Saints seized this opportunity and they partner with local artists. Fans can view and buy professional art, which helps support the community. They also have free art activities for fans to participate in during home games on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Another fun aspect of the Saints is their beloved mascot, Mudonna the pig. Not only is there a mascot version of Mudonna, but they also have a live pig (named Ozempig this year)! Mudonna gets dressed up in cute outfits and can be seen running around the field in between innings.

This past week, the Saints held a Taylor Swift theme night. Of course, I had to attend as I am an avid Swiftie. Fans who signed up for the Taylor Swift package got a friendship bracelet and got to sit with fellow Swifties. The friendship bracelets are a cute trend that started during Swift’s Era’s tour. Fans made friendship bracelets with song lyrics and Taylor references. The fans then traded these bracelets, creating a sense of community while bonding over their passion for Taylor Swift. The bracelets given out at the game repped the Saint’s colors, blue and white, and read, “In my Saints Era”. There was also a special Taylor Swift DJ for the event. Swifties popped out with their Taylor merch and Era’s tour outfits. The energy was great, and it made the night so much fun. There was also a chance to win two tickets to the Miami Era’s tour concert, which included flights. One lucky lady won these tickets and lit up the stadium with her reaction. The night concluded with a firework show and Taylor’s songs playing in the background. Overall, it was a great night and a perfect way to start off the baseball season.
